Secrets costa rica topless11/7/2023 The poolside Jacuzzi was lush! The shop was really pricey, we purchased M&Ms and for two packs it was 11 dollars! But perhaps that’s just because we are used to English Prices. There was always plenty of beachside / poolside seating and towels were well stocked. Extras: We booked a Cabana for one of the days which was lovely, we did choose the only windy day we had and the cabana curtains were slightly erratic, but could see the appeal of the cabanas. Coco Cafe offers Gelato 12pm - 9pm and we took full advantage of this. Breakfast was really tasty and set us up for our excursions out of the hotel. The Market Cafe offered a good selection, some days more vegetarian friendly than others, but there was a great variety. The fries at Barefoot Grill were really tasty and you can order them to the poolside. Their Italian restaurant Portofino was lovely!! Their Gnocchi was to die for. Himitsu was our least successful evening out food wise and I ended up eating the smallest bowl of basmati rice, but the room service Pizza sorted that out when I got back later. Food: Now I’ll start with a disclaimer: I am the fussiest, plainest vegetarian there ever was and I managed to find something to eat everyday! I did end up eating loads of rice and Carbs but at least I was fed. Both Mike and Katty made our stay extra special and whenever we bumped into them in the resort they made an extra effort to have a chat with us and make us feel welcome. She encouraged us throughout the Bike ride and was so friendly and another asset to the Secrets team. The Bike Riding we did with Katty, she was brilliant and so lovely. We told him that we were surfing in Tamarindo the following day and he took the time to give us some tips. He really was an asset to the Secrets team and was very friendly and encouraging. The Paddle board lessons we did with Mike and he was absolutely fantastic. There was an assortment of popcorn available and we watched Jurassic World during our stay. They also do films on the area near the beach, which was great. There were a multitude of other activities to do, such as Spanish lessons, yoga, Aqua activities etc. ![]() You are able to take the Kayaks, snorkel Equipment and Paddle boards out for free at anytime during the day. The only activity you have to pay for was Jet Skiing which was 60 dollars for half an hour. Activities: We tried a multitude of activities during our stay, we did paddle boarding lessons, Kayaking, Snorkelling, Jet Skiing and Bike Riding. During the evenings we had a skunk who liked to frequent our terrace and a cheeky Racoon, who would watch us through the window. The shower was lovely! And the maid service did a thorough job each day of cleaning all areas of the bungalow. We were slightly startled when channel surfing and Channel 72 popped on, but it made for some hysterical chuckles. There are a good variety of channels on the TV should you wish to watch any during your stay. This wasn’t a problem for us in as much as we came up with a system where one of us would sit on the terrace whilst the other would get ready. We were in a twin room as we were two friends going on holiday, this meant that the slightly in private bathrooms took some getting used to. There was an Iron and Hair Dryer with plenty of flannels and towels available in the room. The mini bar was stocked everyday with plenty of Water, Coke and Beer. The beds were really really comfortable with easy to control air conditioning. The room itself was charming with a lovely sea view. only to be dropped about 15 metres away, it was really embarrassing and we suspected our driver probably thought how lazy we were. There is no need to use the shuttle, we found this out after waiting for a shuttle to the room from the preferred check in. ![]() Room: We were lucky enough to stay in a bungalow (Room 118) close to the centre of the resort. ![]() The staff are wonderful and we didn’t come across anything but friendliness. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and extremely organised. We visited Costa Rica in April and stayed in the Secrets Resort for the duration.
